Disperguntur itaque Messanenses per universam insulam Sicilie, & pergentes in civitatem Siragusie, adeo illa egritudo sic infecit Siragusanos, quod diversos immo immensos letaliter interfecit; terra Xacce, terra Trapani, & civitas Agrigenti, Messane similiter de hujusmodi pestilentia sociarunt; & præcipue terra Trapani, que quasi popolo viduata remansit.

So the people of Messina scattered over the whole island of Sicily. When they reached the city of Syracuse, the sickness struck the people there and killed many, a vast number. The towns of Xacca and Trapani and the city of Agrigento shared Messina’s pestilence as well. Trapani above all was left almost empty of people.
